Abstract

This study helps assess the issues and challenges that affect the rate of production and process and proposes an operational strategy to optimise the production rate at an electronic equipment manufacturer in Malaysia. The study was qualitative research, and the information gathered was analysed using the Ishikawa Diagram to find the most prominent issue affecting their production rate. Two main factors were found to have the most impact on the production rate, namely manpower and material issues. This study suggests the need for manpower reallocation and alternative suppliers to mitigate the problems faced by the company.
