Abstract

The sustainability of cooperatives depends on the resilience of their employees. This study investigates the influence of ability, motivation, and opportunity-enhancing practices on employee resilience within Malaysia's cooperative sector, focusing on 175 employees in the Klang Valley. Findings reveal that only motivation significantly impacts resilience among the AMO model components, while ability and opportunity show no direct effect. These insights underscore the need for targeted human resource strategies prioritizing motivational practices to bolster resilience, ultimately supporting organizational sustainability. Future research should examine the interplay of these components across diverse cooperative contexts to refine strategies for fostering employee resilience.
