Abstract

Parental involvement plays a crucial role in children’s development, but a systematic overview remains lacking. This review aimed to identify the global research landscape, hotspots and trends. 1,523 Web of Science articles (2013-2024) in English were extracted from the Web of Science core collection using CiteSpace for co-citation and co-occurrence network analyses. The results highlight PI’s role in boosting academic achievement, fostering home-school collaboration, and supporting children’s cognitive, emotional, and social development. These findings offer valuable implications for future research directions and evidence-based educational policies to enhance parental engagement and school-family partnerships across diverse contexts.
