Abstract

Food allergy is an excessive reaction initiated by the immune system to a particular food. Food allergies usually occur in young children. However, with the current increase in the adult and elderly population, changes in environment and lifestyle have profoundly changed the epidemiology of food allergies. The study aims to identify undergrads' perspectives on food allergies. A descriptive study design with the convenience sampling method was used. The results showed the knowledge of the undergrads about food allergy was good and adequate. In conclusion, the undergrad student has a great perspective on food allergies.
