A Data Review of Batik Block Makers through the Focus Group Discussion
Keywords:
Batik, Block Maker, Batik block, Focus Group DiscussionAbstract
This study explores the decline of Batik block makers in Malaysia through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) approach. Using qualitative research methods, semi-structured group interviews were conducted to collect data on participants’ experiences, perceptions, and opinions within the Batik community. The FGD provided a two-way discussion platform that enabled participants to share valuable insights on the challenges and sustainability of Batik block making. This paper highlights the importance of preserving traditional craftsmanship and reviews the implications of the diminishing number of block makers based on rich qualitative data obtained from the Focus Group Discussion.
