Abstract

Hedonic landscapes such as theme parks serve as important places for leisure and entertainment. In the Philippines, these places evolved from pre‑colonial ritual sites into colonial plazas and fairgrounds–the imprints of contemporary Philippine amusement parks. While most literature examines theme parks in Western contexts, local recreational experiences remain underexplored. This study evaluated the motivations, experiences, and post‑visit outcomes among Filipino visitors at Enchanted Kingdom. Findings revealed that theme parks remain as spaces for escape, novelty, entertainment, celebration, and intergenerational social bonding, enhancing overall well‑being. Future research should examine other underexplored geographical settings to allow comparative analyses across diverse contexts.
