Publication Ethics / COPE

E-BPJ's publication ethics policies are informed by, and intended to be consistent with, the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Concerns are handled following COPE's guidance and flowcharts.

Corrections

Significant errors that do not undermine a paper's findings are corrected through a published Erratum (publisher error) or Corrigendum (author error), linked to and from the original article.

Retractions

Papers are retracted in cases of serious ethical violations, duplicate publication, plagiarism, or data so unreliable that the conclusions cannot stand. A Retraction Notice with its own DOI is published, and the original article stays online, clearly marked "RETRACTED" on every page.

Crossmark

Every article has a Crossref DOI. E-BPJ uses Crossmark: each article shows a Crossmark button that tells readers whether it is the current version or has been corrected or retracted.

To report a concern, see Research Misconduct.
