E-BPJ papers come through AMER's conferences, so fees are charged in three stages. Fees are collected by emAs (AMER Event Management & Services) on behalf of AMER. The amounts are set for each conference and published in its call for papers; the fees for the current conference are below.
Stage 1: Abstract processing fee. Paid when the abstract is submitted.
Stage 2: Conference registration fee. Paid when an accepted abstract's full paper is submitted, before peer review. It covers taking part in the conference (presentation, programme and administration).
Stage 3: Publication fee (article processing charge). Invoiced only after the paper has passed peer review and been accepted. It covers copyediting, typesetting, DOI registration, open-access hosting and long-term preservation.
Registration and publication fees depend on whether the author is a student or not, and whether they are an AMER member.
Abstract processing fee: MYR 100 (early bird, by 21 October 2026) or MYR 200 (final, by 4 November 2026).
| Student, AMER member | Student, non-member | Non-student, AMER member | Non-student, non-member | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Registration fee (early bird / final) | MYR 800 / 900 | MYR 1,000 / 1,200 | MYR 1,300 / 1,500 | MYR 1,600 / 1,800 |
| Publication fee (due 20 January 2027) | MYR 900 | MYR 1,200 | MYR 1,500 | MYR 1,800 |
[These amounts are before the 50% subsidy from the emAs Digital Evolution Grant Program (eDEGP) for this conference.
A formatting surcharge of USD 50 applies to manuscripts that do not follow the manuscript template or are uploaded with incomplete metadata. There are no other page, colour or post-acceptance charges.
All fees are non-refundable once paid, including if a participant cancels. The conference registration fee is not refunded if the paper is later rejected, because it pays for taking part in the conference. If the organiser cancels a conference, all fees are refunded in full; if it is postponed or moved, registrations remain valid.
Paying any fee does not guarantee publication or influence the editorial decision. Every paper is accepted or rejected on peer review alone. Payment terms (accepted payment methods, deadlines) are set out in each conference's call for papers. See also Revenue Sources.
