The Environment-Behaviour Proceedings Journal (E-BPJ, eISSN 2398-4287) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishing the proceedings of the international conference series of the Association of Malaysian Environment-Behaviour Researchers (AMER). It is published by e-International Publishing House, Ltd., UK (e-IPH). The Editor-in-Chief and editorial board have sole authority over peer-review and publication decisions.
E-BPJ publishes research on the relationships between people and their environments: how built, natural, social and digital settings shape human behaviour and Quality of Life (QoL). It draws on environmental psychology, spatial design and behavioural research, and welcomes work that can improve Quality of Life and environmental sustainability.
Every paper must clearly examine the relationship between a specific environment and human behaviour or Quality of Life outcomes. Research from every region is welcome, including studies of Asian, African, Arab, European, American and other communities.
Track 1: Smart Technology and Digital Behavioural Environments. Behaviour in communication and social media environments; how people adapt to AI and other technologies; the effects of big data on digital Quality of Life.
Track 2: Socio-Economic, Management and Public Policy Environments. Consumer and organisational behaviour in business and retail settings; the behavioural effects of household financial stress; the behavioural consequences of public policy; tourism and hospitality environments.
Track 3: Built Environment, Spatial Design and Infrastructure. Safety behaviour in construction environments; environmental design psychology; therapeutic landscapes; housing satisfaction; pedestrian, driver and commuter behaviour; reducing environmental stressors.
Track 4: Social, Cultural and Community Environments. Behaviour and interaction in community settings; design for physical wellbeing in sport and recreation; cultural and heritage environments; workplace ergonomics.
Track 5: Human Development, Education and Wellbeing. Accessibility and behaviour settings for children, young people, older people and disabled people; learning environments; healthcare and healing environments.
Track 6: Sustainability, Energy and Natural Environments. Pro-environmental and energy-saving behaviour; sustainable community lifestyles; psychological restoration through contact with nature.
Papers focused purely on technical coding or software algorithms, engineering materials, corporate supply chains, banking and financial markets, corporate accounting, or marketing and advertising metrics, without a primary and measurable focus on human behaviour or Quality of Life, are out of scope and are declined at the editorial screening stage. This applies equally to regular issues, Special Issues and papers from partner conferences.
