Requirements for Conference Organisers

E-BPJ publishes the proceedings of the international conference series of the Association of Malaysian Environment-Behaviour Researchers (AMER), and may publish Special Issues from partner conferences. Every conference whose papers are published in E-BPJ must meet the requirements below. The journal's editors, not the conference, decide what is published.

1. Scope

The conference's themes and tracks must fit E-BPJ's Aims and Scope and use the journal's six research tracks. The conference title and description must accurately reflect the papers it is expected to produce. Papers outside the journal's scope are declined, whether or not they were presented.

2. Conference committee

Each conference must have a named scientific committee whose members have relevant expertise and come from more than one institution and country. The committee's size should suit the number of papers and tracks. The committee (names, roles, affiliations and countries) is listed in the published issue.

3. Peer review

All full papers go through E-BPJ's double-blind peer review. Acceptance of an abstract or a conference presentation does not guarantee publication. Final decisions are made by the journal's editors.

4. Conflicts of interest

Papers authored by conference organisers, committee members or E-BPJ editors are handled by an editor with no conflict of interest. Those authors take no part in the review or decision on their own papers.

5. Communication with participants

Conference materials must not promise publication or indexing in any database (for example, "indexed in Web of Science"). They must state that papers are subject to peer review, and must link to the journal's Author Fees and Author Instructions pages. Fees must be stated clearly, with the amounts and when they are due.

6. Records

The conference provides the journal with the programme, the list of papers presented, and the committee list, so that each published issue can report how many papers were presented and how many were accepted.

7. Ethics

Conferences follow the journal's Ethics and Malpractice policies. The journal may decline to publish papers from a conference that does not meet these requirements.
