The 4th International Conference of the World Academy of Islamic Management (WAIM2025) was held online on 15–16 December 2025. Organised by the World Academy of Islamic Management (WAIM), the conference focused on management knowledge, strategies and practices informed by Islamic values and frameworks, with attention to organisational, ethical, financial, educational and professional dimensions of management.

Editorial Architecture & Islamic Management–EBS Integration

Environment-Behaviour Proceedings Journal (E-BPJ), Volume 11, Special Issue No. SI44, comprises 6 papers identified as potential E-BPJ contributions by four Invited Special Editors from the WAIM2025 Organiser. Acting in their special editorial capacity, the four Invited Special Editors identified papers with substantive relevance to the established Environment-Behaviour Studies (EBS) scope and thematic architecture of E-BPJ. The identified manuscripts subsequently underwent peer review by the conference's International Scientific Committee (ISC) before publication.
The special issue provides a focused interface between Islamic Management and the established EBS framework of E-BPJ. The six papers are aligned with three specific E-BPJ thematic tracks:

Track 1 — Smart Technology & Digital Behavioural Environments
This track addresses behavioural and organisational implications of digitally mediated environments, including social media, digital communication and technology-related patterns of human experience. The SI44 contribution examines social media overload and social media exhaustion within the Malaysian corporate environment, establishing its relevance to technology-mediated behavioural conditions.

Track 2 — Socio-Economic, Management & Public Policy Environments
This track encompasses organisational management, socio-economic relationships, institutional practices, governance, service systems and policy-related environments. Four SI44 papers align with this track through their examination of Halal Quality Management Systems, Ta’Awun and SME resilience, Shariah-compliant customer service, and transformational leadership, job satisfaction and turnover intention. Collectively, these studies connect Islamic management principles with organisational practices, socio-economic resilience, service relationships and workplace behaviour.

Track 5 — Human Development, Spatial Education & Physical Wellbeing
This track addresses human development, educational environments, learning experiences and wellbeing-related dimensions of human-environment interaction. The SI44 contribution examines Islamic values in experiential learning and graduate readiness, connecting educational practice, value formation, learning experience and human development.

Together, the six papers demonstrate substantive alignment with E-BPJ's multidisciplinary EBS architecture across digital behavioural environments, socio-economic and organisational environments, management and workplace behaviour, and human development and education. The Islamic Management perspective provides the thematic context, while the E-BPJ tracks establish the papers' environment-behaviour relevance.

Editorial Scope & Quality Control
The four members of the WAIM2025 Organiser serving as invited special editors identified the potential contributions and facilitated their consideration for the special issue. The identified manuscripts were subsequently subjected to peer review by the conference's International Scientific Committee (ISC). Manuscripts proceeding successfully through the applicable editorial and peer-review process were published in E-BPJ Vol. 11 No. SI44.
Accordingly, SI44 documents a defined publication pathway of special-editor identification → E-BPJ thematic alignment → ISC peer review → publication, providing a transparent editorial basis for the inclusion of the six WAIM2025 papers in the E-BPJ special issue.
