Editorial Architecture & Quality-of-Life Focus within the Asia-Pacific

Environment-Behaviour Proceedings Journal (E-BPJ), Volume 11, Number 38, comprises 17 selected papers associated with AQoL2026Bangkok. As the concluding volume associated with AMER’s 2026 ASLI Quality of Life series, the issue places Quality of Life (QoL) at the centre of its multidisciplinary Environment-Behaviour Studies (EBS) framework.
The volume examines relationships between environment, human behaviour and Quality of Life, considering technological, socio-economic, spatial, cultural, educational, health and ecological conditions across the broader Asia-Pacific regional context. The selected papers are organised around six principal thematic themes:

  1. Smart Technology & Digital Behavioural Environments
  2. Socio-Economic, Management & Public Policy Environments
  3. Built Environment, Spatial Design & Spatial Infrastructure
  4. Social, Cultural & Community Interaction Environments
  5. Human Development, Spatial Education & Physical Wellbeing
  6. Sustainability, Energy & Natural Cognitive Environments

These themes establish the principal editorial scope of the volume, with Quality of Life providing an integrative lens for examining wellbeing, lived experience, adaptation, inclusion, social interaction, environmental responsibility and human-environment relationships.

Editorial Scope & Quality Control

The editorial selection process maintained a defined Environment-Behaviour Studies and Quality-of-Life scope, with the Asia-Pacific setting providing the broader regional context. Submissions outside the thematic, disciplinary or Quality-of-Life orientation of the volume were excluded from E-BPJ Vol. 11 No. 38.
All 17 manuscripts included in the volume underwent the conference's pre-conference manual double-blind peer-review process, administered through secure institutional email networks. Following peer review, each manuscript underwent Turnitin similarity screening with a similarity index below 15%, prior to final publication on 23 September 2026.
Accordingly, Vol. 11 No. 38 provides a distinct Quality-of-Life-oriented conclusion to the 2026 E-BPJ publication sequence, complementing the Asia-focused EBS orientation of Vol. 11 No. 36 and the Asia-Pacific/trans-regional orientation of Vol. 11 No. 37.
